Ian McDiarmid in the Final Season of Star Wars Rebels?
You know that laugh and the oh-so-familiar hooded appearance. But is there a chance we may see the character appearing in Star Wars Rebels played by the man who plays him best, Ian McDiarmid?
With the explosive and intense third season finale, the stakes are even higher for the fourth and final season of the animated series. Thrawn is on the rise and out for revenge. The Rebels are hurting but are determined to stick together. And we still don’t know what happened to Ahsoka. I’m confident we will be seeing more of Darth Vader before the series ends and, if Vader is coming back, we may see another, disfigured face showing up; The Emperor himself.
Now, we heard him in one of the Season 2 episodes, but we always want more and we just may get our wish. There are reports that Ian McDiarmid, the actor behind Palpatine and The Emperor, will be representing the character once again in the hit animated series. The reports from Star Wars News Network say that the actor has recorded lines for the upcoming episodes. He has never voiced Palpatine in the cartoons. Rather, we had Ian Abercrombie during The Clone Wars cartoon and Sam Witwer, who has also voiced Maul, earlier in Rebels. Perhaps we’ll get a wonderful return like we got with Frank Oz’s performance in Season 2 instead of Tom Kane from Clone Wars. The future is never certain. We will have to wait until fall to find out! I’m excited to see how it all ends!
