[Discussion] Luke Has a DEADLY New Force Power That Can Kill, Dismember & VAPORIZE Enemies
Star Wars hero Luke Skywalker has a deadly new Force power that is officially canon. What is Force Repulse, why is it so terrifying and when will we see it in The Last Jedi? Thirty years have passed since we last saw the young farm boy from Tatooine who, along with some last minute help from his father, took down Emperor Palpatine. He is now the most powerful Jedi in the history of that galaxy far, far away.
After his disappointingly brief appearance at the end of The Force Awakens, it looks like fans are about to see the full extent of his spectacular powers in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Details of Luke’s staggering new Force ability has officially entered canon, but it is a force power that all too often in the past, has been more associated with the Dark Side.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD…
The new power, Force Repulse. Star Wars Legends have shown this in the past. The two most famous characters were both from the Dark Side, Bendak Starkiller and Darth Malgus. Each of these characters used Force Repulse.
The ability involves a Force user pulling all their energy in and then expelling it in a violent wave. This particular ability corresponds closely with reports of battle scenes involving Luke that have been filmed for The Last Jedi.
On a basic level Force Repulse can throw opponents through the air but Dark Side practitioners usually add Force lightening or similar offensive powers to the wave. This results in enemies being dismembered and killed. The most powerful exponents were even able to utterly vaporise anyone within the blast range. Light Side users more often used the ability to clear a space during battle. Mace Windu is the best known example.
